A Very Snowy Wedding

The hubby and I went on another adventure last month. We had a saved reservation and deposit for the Sea and Sand RV Resort in Depoe Bay, Oregon, a holdover from when we made last minute detour last year at Thanksgiving. We spent two glorious days at the ocean with our friends Don and Angela Smith, to relax and unwind from a 15-hour drive, before the four of us headed inland on Friday.

The real reason for this trip was for the wedding of our oldest niece Casey Jackson.

This was a year of exciting milestones for her, first graduating from Oregon State with a bachelors degree in June, then moving to Juno, Alaska with her fiancé Drew for his work, and then of course their wedding.

It was a wonderful reason for a Jackson family reunion. It had been four years since we’d seen Casey. Our last visit was for her high school graduation, and at least two years since we’d seen most of the Jackson family at the our nephew Jacob Jackson Datoc’s high school graduation. It was great to be able to see everyone and catch up.

The wedding was in Independence Oregon, at the Green Villa Barn which suited the bride perfectly as she’s, one of the strongest most independent young ladies I’ve ever known. So sure of who she is and what she wants unlike any other her age I’ve met.

We left a little early while everyone was snacking on cupcakes to grab a late dinner at Mangiare Italian Restaurant, in Independence. What a fabulous little place.

Sunday morning the clan got back together for brunch for one last chance to chat before we separated again. My longtime girlfriend Donna joined us for breakfast. So it was great to be able to catch up with another friend on the trip. Many of us won’t see each other again for another two years, until the next round of high school graduations. After we ate we headed in our various directions home.

Casey and Drew make a beautiful, young couple and we look forward to seeing more adventures from them. They honeymooned in Scandinavia. The pictures she posted were beautiful.

Congratulations Casey and Drew, we love you.
