There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.

Hello Again,

This month there are two blogs because we wanted to do a special mention to the half a dozen graduates in our lives.

Once again it’s Graduation season, so we are running ragged trying to be there for everyone that holds a special place in our lives. We just got back from Las Vegas for our niece’s high school graduation, we drove the motorcoach down there and towed the Jeep for easy access to everyone.

Anyway, so this second post this month is dedicated to our nieces Alani and Mikela, as well as family friends, Arika, Syler,  Royce, Lisa, and Dalton. And of course, last but not least, Daniel, one of my brothers-in-law is graduating top of his class at the certified Harley Davidson mechanic school.

Alani graduated from Foothill High School in Las Vegas, with a college and career readiness diploma which is an advanced diploma, not simply a diploma with honors. This means that she can skip all of her pre-requisite classes and go straight into the classes that are required for her bachelors. Her bachelor should take about three years to acquire but without all the “starter” classes they usually make you take. And being that she has a three-year full-ride scholarship, the only thing she will pay is book fees. She will be a Registered Nurse in the first two years and receive her Bachelors of Science in Nursing after the third. We are so very proud of all she’s accomplished.

Syler graduated from Downey High School in Modesto, they celebrated his accomplishments over the Memorial Day holiday while we were in Las Vegas, so, unfortunately, we missed his party. But we plan to catch up with them sometime this summer.

Mikiela graduated from Enochs High School with full honors in Modesto. She has been accepted at San Jose State University where she will attend in the fall to study journalism.

Royce graduated from in Granda High School in Livermore. He has spent the last year taking classes at the Junior College for dual credits, high school, and college. He will attend Las Positas in the Fall.

Dalton graduated from Arapahoe High School. He earned his letter in football, involvement with FFA, choir, school plays etc. Also received a standing ovation on Honors Night when his Sergeant recognized his drive and enlistment into the Marines. He is going to be an airplane mechanic and the part his Grandma didn’t really need to know (hehe) is when he told me eventually he wants to be a fighter pilot! He’s already had flying lessons on small planes.

Arika graduated with a bachelors degree in science of psychology from Stanislaus State University.

Lisa received a bachelor’s of science degree in interdisciplinary studies from Western Oregon University.

Daniel graduated as a certified technician (Tech Rec) from the Harley-Davidson – Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix Arizona. He was hired by one of the biggest Harley Davidson shops in Carson City, Nevada before he even finished the program.
