A 4 Wheeling Wedding
This summer has been a whirlwind of activity for us. High School graduations, new nephews, car shows, camping and road trips. The race season has begun and it seems that almost every weekend is filled with something.
The first weekend of August was our first wedding the year. Our dearest friends Jennifer Smith and Jerry Kayser finally took the leap after seven long years together. They created a Facebook page, Jenn and JJ’s Hitchin’ Post- Wedding Page to announce their engagement, and list the details of the upcoming nuptials. They later changed the name of the group to say Kayser Shindig 2015 https://www.facebook.com/groups/1593735104221447/. On August 1, 2015, they said their vows on stage at the Hollister Hills Off Road Park.
The wedding party had six bridesmaids and four groomsmen. Jenn’s Friends, Jennifer Escalante, and Gracie Valdovinos, her little sister Dawn Scoggin Hoffman, and Jerry’s daughter’s Stormie Web, Jordyn Kayser, Logan Kayser, and Jessie Kayser, stood on the brides side, while on the grooms side, there was Jerry’s brother, Terry Jones, Jenn’s son Les Northcutt, and friends Marc Escalante and Sam Webb.
Jenn’s neice Rayann Hoffman was the flower girl (who slept through the ceremony), and her nephew Caleb Hoffman carried the sign to bring the bride to the stage.
Marc Escalante officiated the wedding as a surprise for Jennifer, while his wife held the microphone for him.
There was approximately 200 guests there to witness the ceremony. Jennifer and Jerry wrote their own vows that had the guests laughing and teary eyed throughout. They exchanged very special wedding rings, the rings worn for 25 years by Jerry’s late father and step-mother.
The pictures were taken by a good friend of Jennifers, Michele Tognotti Campbell, she can be found at facebook.com/lifeprintsbymichelephotography, and www.lifeprintsbymichele.com
After vows like “I will try to listen” and “I can guarantee many adventures” were shared, Jennifer’s son, and Jerry’s four daughters, all who were members of the bridal party and already on the stage, stood together in a sand blending ceremony to unite the two families into one.
The catering was provided by Mansmith’s Catering, http://www.mansmith.com. It was fantastic, and there was so much food.
After dinner and dancing, and the kids were sent home, or put to bed in their parents trailers, the party began in earnest. Friends re-connected, and new friendships were made, and the laughter flowed.
Jennifer’s brother-in-law Ben Hoffman was a riot. After a few beers he relaxed and let his hair down, we all had a great time. “Hey Ben, Have you ever tried a Regal Light? I hear they’re great!”
The majority of the guests left, or went to their camps around midnight, with the rest calling it a night after two am. The following morning most people broke camp and headed home.
The couple hopes to have their honeymoon in the spring during another trip to the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.
Congratulations Jennifer and Jerry. May the rest of your adventures be long and interesting.
