Who needs the jolly fat man, when you can get books here for free…

Happy holidays everyone, another year is quickly coming to an end. It’s amazing sometimes how fast time flies when you are distracted with so much going on.

All Things Writing:

I’ve made even more changes to my website besides adding a page to purchase copies of my signed paperbacks in time for the holidays, I’ve also made some honorable mentions for a few organizations that I think might be a great help for readers and writers. The team at Careful Cents did a great job reviewing Audible’s audiobook service so I’ve included a link to it so that readers can learn more about this great service, it’s on my For Readers page here. For writers and website builders, there are a few suggested websites to look at to help you design your site on your own, here on my For Writers page. Below you will also find the cover for my upcoming book His Heart’s Desire A Novella, the third story in the Letting Love In series. It is up for pre-order now and expected out early 2020.

I was invited to do an interview for Betty Bolte’s Author blog, you can find it here at the end of the month: https://bettybolte.net/?p=3379

I’m doing something a little different this month. I’ve partnered up with another great author to swap newsletter mentions, and to bring a free book by a new author to our loyal followers. Carmen Cook is an amazing author of romantic suspense, with two books out already and a third up now for preorder.

In Carmen’s own words:

I’m a lover of whiskey, wine, high heels & higher stakes. I’m most active on Instagram, Facebook & Book+Main.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll be able to explore my revenge garden (and heard that story) as well as get sneak peeks of some AMAZING photos of the real-life Sapphire Creek area of Montana.  https://www.instagram.com/carmencook_/

Following my Facebook Page will show you what tickles my funny bone, as well as the random thoughts from throughout my day. (Plus, you know, book stuff). I love sharing info about sales, so that’s the place to see that.  https://www.facebook.com/carmencookauthor/
I’m an author over at Book + Main Bites, which is a site built especially for romance readers. You can search by topics or keywords and find snippets of books by new-to-you authors, as well as some of your favorites. I’ve been posting an #exclusive unedited sneak peek of my upcoming release over there.   https://bookandmainbites.com/CarmenCook/bites

And of course last but not least, I have a cover! You have no idea the amount of fun (Not!) that my poor graphic artist went through for almost a year now. My first two covers came out fairly easily, and fairly quickly. With a couple of ideas and suggestions, they were done. This one not even close. I’ve no doubt I’ve added a few extra gray hairs to her head. The book is up for pre-order now.

Blurb:

A determined woman’s dream…

For Sophie Compte, everything she’s ever wanted is in the palm of her hands. Her long-time beau has proposed. The wedding of the century is coming together nicely. Her father is handing over the daily operations of their horse breeding farm to her and her fiancé.

A stubborn man’s plan…

Claude Durand finally found the courage to slip the ring on his childhood sweetheart’s finger. It’s not that he had ever doubted he would. He just needed time to make something of himself that was independent of his life on the Compte family horse farm.

A world turned upside down…

For Sophie and Claude, their relationship has been a roller coaster of drama and hardships. Now though their time has come. Everything is as it should be. In an instant, everything crashes leaving a pile of rubble in the place of their hopes and dreams, and they are left to question if life will ever be the same. Faced with battered dreams, and forgotten love, they must decide if they can let go of what once was, and push towards a future neither had ever expected.

Travels and Adventures:

Our annual trip to San Felipe for Thanksgiving started the weekend before in Las Vegas for the SRL race, where my husband works with Team Beeler of Beeler Industries to get the car in race shape. I had the chance to catch up with the middle sister, and with our other, other-family.

From there this year we made a side trip to visit more of the extended other-family that we haven’t seen as often as we would like since life gets in the way and they retired to the sunny desert in Lake Havasu, Arizona. We spent a few precious days catching up and checking out the sites like the London Bridge, and all the great restaurants, before we headed south of the border. We hope to add that leg to our annual trip so that we can visit them a little more often.

The sunrises in San Felipe can take your breath away. They are never the same two days in a row, the skies are moody and gray some days, while other’s host a startling array of reds, oranges, and blues.

We finished up our vacation with the annual 25-hour race at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows California. It’s good to be back home again, and back to the normal routine.

Animal Antics:

The pug is growing leaps and bounds she’s now a solid eighteen pounds. The cats have adjusted and Rubicon has become quite the traveler. She’s now been all over California, to Medford Oregon a couple of times, Las Vegas Nevada, Lake Havasu Arizona, and now to San Felipe Baja Mexico in her first six months. She handles being seat-belted into the seat, both the front and back, as well as traveling in her crate. She’s even managed to survive the indignity of being put into an enclosed playpen! I wish I would have gotten pictures of that. She is quite the character.

A New Creative Space:

My husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year and I said to finish what we started with my new office space. When we did the floors a few years ago, we made a bunch of changes including swapping the office and spare room. We didn’t re-paint the office at the time, and the only thing we bought was a new desk and chair, as well as the computer equipment… And that alone broke the budget at the time.

Now I’m hoping to swap out the window for a french door to face the back yard, so I can see more of the hummingbirds. I am having a floor to ceiling, wall to wall custom bookcase built into one side. I’m looking at moving the TV to the other wall instead of the corner it’s in, and hiding the all in one printer in the closet somewhere.

To keep up with all of the changes, and see the before and after pictures, follow my board on Pinterest here: New Home Office
