Is it just me or is it hot in here?

As summer winds down, we are looking forward to the cooler weather. Another month or two of ungodly heat is ahead of us then hopefully we should return to more reasonable temperatures. This is coming from a California girl who thinks the weather is perfect between 65 – 85 degree’s and wishes it would stay that way year-round.

It will be a quiet month as we wind down and try to catch up.

Animal Antics:

While going through my photos this year to find images of my current menagerie of pets, I came across a few of Tank and Toby that I thought I’d share with you.

Tank was a beautiful three-year-old brindle pug. He was a little chunky love bug. He came to us in the spring and in 2014 for about six months we fostered him.

He was full of energy, so much that our two labs couldn’t keep up with him, and left the entertainment up to our orange tabby. Rubi’s endless energy reminds me of him often.

Toby was an orange tabby cat. While shopping for dog hiking gear, we came across an adoption day at the pet store. Toby stuck his paws out of his little cage and wrapped them around my finger in the gentlest of ways.

It took me over an hour to guilt my husband into agreeing to adopt him, but neither of us ever regretted bringing him home.

He blessed our house with love and shenanigans for a year and a half, until he passed suddenly from FIP, breaking our hearts as he crossed the rainbow bridge.

I miss hearing them chasing each other up and down the hallway sounding like a herd of elephants, and snuggling with me on the couch while I worked on my laptop.
