Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Almost every year my husband and I host a Saint Patrick’s Day gathering with our friends and family.
I usually decorate the house, dye the beer green for the guys, and make some minty frothy concoction for the ladies. Dinner has always been corned beef and cabbage/vegetables, and french bread…
This year I’m thinking I want to liven things up a bit and make a Guinness Stew in the Instant pot my darling friend Michelle gave me for Christmas two years ago. It’s become my new best friend outside of my electric roaster.
While it’s certainly no longer “stew weather” here in California, not that it really has been much at all this year, it just seems to tickle my fancy and try something new for a change. I’ll have to let you know how it goes in next month’s blog.
I managed to win Sticker Mule’s Twitter #MuleMonday Holo Stickers giveaway. I’m so excited. I’m pretty excited and can’t wait to get them, they’ve been ordered and should be here in a week or so. These are custom die-cut holographic stickers. The holographic vinyl has an eye-catching rainbow effect which changes with light and perspective. I saved a copy of each, I think the dark background makes the sticker easier to see on the screen.
All Things Writing:
As I continue with my new year and new me. I’m still bringing you more books and authors to love with another author swap newsletter mentions and to bring a new author to our loyal followers. As part of my new year, new me plans, I want to continue this. I think it’s great to be able to bring as many new authors and books to our readers as we can. Travels and Adventures:
During the first week in February, my husband went down to King of the Hammers (KOH) for the annual races in Johnson Valley. For the most part, it is a man trip since most of the group comes down without their wives. This year one of the couples backed out, and so I was off the hook and wasn’t expected to go. YAY! I had a few days home in a nice warm house with the kitties and puppy to catch up on all the things that seem to sidetrack me.
Animal Antics:
Rubicon is growing more every day and soon we will be giving her regular dog food instead of the puppy variety which is good because it’s probably more than half the cost, though I think she may need a diet before her first birthday. She’s becoming a little chunker! Of all the things she likes and begs to be fed, I’ve learned that she likes plain tortilla chips but absolutely hates the green salsa. Oops! The look she gave me, I wish I could have captured it. It was classic.
The family came to visit us for the day, and have dinner, and Paige had a blast playing with the puggy.
The cats are adjusting in their own way, it should only take another decade before they fully accept Rubicon as one of the family. (This is a hopeful estimate knowing my cats.)
A New Creative Space:
There is still no headway on the color scheme. But I am currently working on convincing the husband that we NEED to change the ceiling fan to match the one in our bedroom. He is currently not on board at all. His canned response these days is “it’s not in the budget!” GAH!
